[PRR-talk] Spring 2008 Keystone T-1 article - consist question

I noticed something interesting about the photos in this article. On pages 15 and 29, a picture of a T-1 with a passenger train is displayed. However the consist caught my eye. There is no head end equipment. I believe the first car on one train is a streamlined coach but the other train it is some sort of HW Pullman. 
 
What types of trains ran this way? Were these 2nd Sections of larger trains?
