[PRR-talk] I need some info please on PRR Lines 8039

Come on all you steam guys.

Just how unusual is this picture of a straight N2s in service?

 

I am guessing that the picture was taken early to mid 20's as it still has
the radial stay fire box

The centered head light is correct for its as built condition before
conversion to N2sa in the mid 20's

Something else that caught my eye - the stock USRA tender has wooden
extenders on the coal hopper.

 

Besides build dates and types, what info are you looking for on the other
engines listed?

Ok, I dont understand the Pennsylvania Lines and PRR connection. I know
there is one but I dont understand it. Anyhow I have this picture of my
great grandpa I have had many family members work for the RR's and I hope to
continue it on after i get out of high school (I'm a freshman). Here is the
picture.

My great grandpa is the dirty one the one second from the left. I would like
to know some info about this engine. Where it was serving at if possible. If
anyone knows any one else in this picture. And what is the PRR and
Pennsylvania lines connection between the two. Because I dont like to flood
with a bunch of different emails of different questions I would also like
info on
