Just a head's up for anyone coming into town early for the annual meeting...

Camp Hill is obviously conveniently located close to Harrisburg, the state
capital.

If you've never been there, the state's archives have a trove of PRR
material... collection 286. It's accessed so often they actually keep the
indexes in a special area right in the main reading room. The Tom Hollyman
aerial photograph collection is particularly interesting. A lot of these
shots have appeared in the "Triumph" books.

Hours:
Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Saturday (microfilm use only), 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Also close by is the state library. They offer free access to the Sanborn
fire maps, which offer scale maps of most cities in the state, at various
points in time. They were of great use to me in planning my modeling of
Harrisburg. They also have the business directories for many cities --
these are like phone books, but listings are by address, rather than by
name, so you can find out who/what occupied a building.
