My Westside N2sa must be from the batch that Bob Hess' dad first looked at.
I never saw a real N2sa in person, but I knew that my model did not look
quite right. -Ryan Hoover

Tom and List,
Regarding your question about adding a Belpaire section to the top of the
Walthers N2s without removing any of the radial firebox, I believe that this
would have to be extremely thin at the top center. The top of the boiler
and firebox should be level at this location.
I can recall when my father went to the shop to purchase one of the Westside
N2sa models nearly thirty years ago. He was a retired PRR engineman and
could very quickly spot any problems on a model. The first N2sa he looked
at did not meet his approval, as there was a noticeable "step" at the joint
between the boiler and firebox. The firebox at the top center was 1.5mm or
2mm higher than the boiler - not much but he noticed it right away. So he
asked to see a second model and on this example the boiler and firebox lined
up at the top.
