[PRR-talk] End of steam dates, Eastern Div./Lake Region?

List,

Perhaps someone can add some answers or likely guesses to the following:

1. I had noted from some source that the Millbrook coal dock west of
Wooster had closed in '53- this corresponds to the '53 dieselization
date that I've seen for many
of the Central Region Divisions. With this facility closed, does
that mean it is highly unlikely that any freights would have been
steam powered on the PFt.W&C main line after that date,
even in business upturn of '55-'56?

2. Farther east, can anyone offer likely d-dates for the main line
between Rochester and Alliance, and the Bayard Cut-off between
Rochester and Fairhope?
I would think particularly the main line would correspond to the
Wooster area, but there may have been mineral trains particularly on
the Bayard that were steam
powered a bit later.

I don't know as much about where the supporting facilities were on
those routes, and when they closed, but it has been noted that even
as Conway was rebuilt,
1955-57, it still had steam facilities (these may have been largely
used for trains to and from the Conemaugh, as that was a line that
was notably "de-dieselized" in 1955
w/traffic upturn).

Thanks for any additional info,

Fred R.
