[PRR-talk] I need some education regarding train make up

I understand that the Make Up of Trains book lists the type cars to be included in a tgiven rain.  What I don't understand is why the cars were chosen in the first place and why the order of them.  For example why would you have two 12-1 sleepers with a different type between them?  Wouldn't cars sent from New York to Chicago and back basically be the same every trip unless one needed to be pulled for maintenance?  Aparently there were specific cars on specific trains.  Where can this information be obtained? What else should I know?  Thanks, Norm Bell
