Sam,

I tried 3rdPlanit for several weeks and never got the hang of it.  I 
used XTrkCAD to design my layout.  It has excellent tutorials, and being 
free open-source program, the price is right!

Atlas Right track is simpler, but not as flexible, as it is set up to
