? A goodie that Erwin the repairman at Caboose Hobbies passed on to me was the use of a soft graphite pencil.? A 2B or 4B graphite pencil works wonderfully for lubricating axles.? Place the pencil tip in the axle pocket then twirl it to leave a coating of graphite.?? No mess of loose graphite and not the dirt collecting trait of liquid lubes. With today's material the initial graphite lube job last for a long, long time.
