Happy 4th to all PRR Listers:
In the recent Keystone, there is a fanastic article on Crestline by William Ayers. A very informative, detailed article with many rare photographs. (Of course, I write this as an unbiased Lines Westerner). At any rate, I need help on identifying a car in this article. On the top of page 29, there is a passenger train headed by a K-4. The first car in the consist is very unusual. It has a very deep fish-belly side sill. It has 2 doors on the sides The upper half of the sides, it appears that there are windows or openings that run essentially the length of the car.
What was this car?? Was it a baggage or horse car? Who owned these cars? I have seen these cars in enough Pennsy photos to suggest that they were a common sight.
Lastly, does anyone make in in HO scale?
TIA!
Ted Andrews
