[PRR-talk] track chart signals/symbols

On 690, the circle on the mast just above the zero represents the lower
marker light that is displayed in a stop and proceed indication. I can't
make out the other mark on the mast above the nine, but I'm guessing it is a
"G" inside a circle, which would be a grade marker plate. A "G" marker
plate indicates that trains do not need to stop at a stop and proceed
indication if there is a risk of stalling on a hill.
4L: I can just barely make out a circle on the lower arm next to the mast.
If so, this would be for a stop and proceed indication. I see all three
arms represented on the bottom as well. So Medium Clear, Slow Approach,
Restricting. Probably Medium Clear and Slow Approach for crossing over to
the RH main. Restricting otherwise.
14L: Lower arm can only display restricting. Probably for crossing over to
left track. I can't make out the circle next to the mast, but I'd be very
surprised if this signal can't display stop and proceed as well.
4R: I only see a vertical and restricting arms in the bottom. I would have
to conclude that the bottom vertical arm is used for an approach medium
indication rather than medium clear. It would be highly unusual for a
signal to be able to display medium clear and not slow approach as well. So
I'd speculate on the following indications: Clear, ApprMed, Appr, Restr,
S&P, Stop.
I would venture the speculation that 4R governs the main track. A clear
indication could not be displayed leaving the siding through the diverging
side of the turnout. The question then remains, what governed the departure
from the siding. All routes into an interlocking must be protected by a
signal, so it could have been a dwarf that simply isn't shown. Note that
there must have been a 14R for westward movement on the lower track that
isn't shown either - most likely another dwarf.
