Should you ever happen to be in Greeley (City founded by Horace Greeley, "Go West young man, Go West...") with nothing better to do.? Visit this model railroad museum, Greeley Freight Station Museum, in downtown Greeley.??? www.gfsm.org???? This is the life-long dream project of retired newspaper magnate, Dave Tressel.??The Tuesday Night Conspirators, my weekly round-robin group, was invited to participate in the first full blown ops session.? While we were prepared for a debugging session, we were instead pleasantly treated to an almost flawless seven hours of operation.? The bugs confined themselves to minor trackside signalling?glitches. 

?


? For 2008, visiting the layout will be limited to the first?Friday evening of the month?at 6, 7 and 8.??The layout?will?be closed for 2008 to speed the completion of structures and scenery.?At present,?about half of the twenty-six plus scale miles of this HO layout has received the full scenery. ?The master plan is to have the layout computer controlled for automated operation during visitor hours then revert to?dispatcher control for operating sessions.

??BTW, the museum management bares no responsibility for disturbances caused by the Union Pacific trains passing next to the museum building on Uncle Pete's Denver-Cheyenne mainline.
