[PRR-talk] PCM I1 delivery date

Folks,

A number of you have asked me about the January 08 delivery date for  
the PCM I1 and whether I thought they would make that date.  Given  
that there are 24 days left, I'm going to say that it seems unlikely  
<VBG>.  With the schedules involved, I would predict March (if we are  
lucky) or April for a realistic delivery date.

Before any of you get up in arms about "yet another delay", I want to  
explain that the delay in the release is to fix several problems that  
we (the PRRT&HS I1 group) noted on the pilot models.  We have been  
closely involved in the process.  For example, Steve Hoxie and I met  
with PCM at the Cocoa Beach meet this weekend to go over some of the  
changes needed.  We have been assured that where possible, all of our  
requested changes in the pilot model will be made.   We may even get  
a second round of pilot models to review, before production begins!   
That says a lot about PCM's willingness to both "get it right" and to  
work with the PRRT&HS to do so.  While no model is perfect, there is  
an excellent chance that this will be one of the best I1s ever  
produced and hopefully, you will all find it worth the wait!
