Greetings all...
Anyone have any info of the WABCO "Duophone" Radio? I found a
second sheet to the "Tools and Supplies for Cabin Cars" and it has
instructions on how to operate the "Duophone" on Cabin Cars. I never
heard of this type of radio but iI's made by WABCO so maybe this is one
of the radios that replaced the older "Train Phone" system on the PRR.
This document is dated November 1, 1966.
According to the instructions, this radio can be used as a portable
that uses 2 lantern batteries or can be in a Cabin Car rack that
supplies 32 volts. Sure would like to see a photo of this radio. I
thought that PRR went to Motorola for radios in the mid 1960s(?). This
is new to me. Al Buchan, do you know about this radio? I know you were
"on the road" about this time. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in
advance,
Dave Hopson
