Jerry,

    Originally cabin car sides and roofs were all freight car color,
just like the body of the car. Then came the use of the black roof
coating. Later in the cabin car years, (I would guess early to mid
1950's) the entire cupola was a black color. Not all got it. And no,
N6bs never had the yellow or gray "pool" color cupolas.

     You are a large scaler too?  You have any photos of the model? I
had built the N6b as well as the N8 N5c and N5b back in the early
2000's. Mine can be seen on my large scale page:
