Gentlemen,

I am presently building a N5c for a gentleman in Kentucky. He would like to have his N5c painted and lettered as it came out of the erection shop in 1942. I have the color and the lettering scheme but I need a good number for a PITTSBURGH N5c. Also I need to know how the assignment would have been noted on the side in the 40's. Would it have been PITTSBURGH REGION or PITTSBURGH DIVISION or something else? This car will have the trainphone antenna and battery box. I am spending a lot of time in the construction and would like to get the finishing touches just right. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It is my understanding that N5c cabin cars that were equipped with the trainphone system had external door battery boxes on the side under the bunk bed while non-trainphone equipped N5c's did not. Do you know, for sure, this is correct?

     Many Thanks in advance!!

DICK POOLE
