Hi to all: I have seen some posts which say GG1 4909 was ORIGINALLY painted DGLE. The real question is, " Was 4909 EVER painted Tuscan red?"
I live less than 60 miles from "The Henry Ford". I would like to contact "The Henry Ford" and not make a fool out of myself, if 4909 was at one point painted Tuscan. Further, I would contact the PRRT&HS to see if they are interested in assisting in the restoration.
Personally, I'd like to know why they have chosen Tuscan as most GG1's were DGLE, since Tuscan was not representative (is that a word?) of the fleet as I understood it to be.

As some of you know, the Henry Ford Museum purchased GG1 4909 from the Leatherstocking Railway Historical Society. The Oneonta New York Daily Star reported yesterday that the loco is being readied for its journey from New York to Dearborn, Michigan. You can read about it here:
