[PRR-talk] 2 questions RE late '50's tructrain trailers

Folks,

I would like to pin down a couple of dates RE PRR trailers in the
late '50's:

1. The first 85-ft flats were delivered I believe in 9/59.
Presumably the first PRR 40' trailers came at roughly the same time,
perhaps a few months earlier? Does anyone have a 1st delivery date
for these?

2. I'm thinking the 40-ft trailers introduced the PRR trailer scheme
that was used up until the merger-
the circular herald on either a red or aluminum trailer. Seems
logical that this scheme was introduced on the
new trailers, and that then older trailers were gradually repainted,
but I don't have proof. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Thanks in advance!

Fred R.
