Mick,

Jerry suggested Rockville Bridge. If you're in the Harrisburg area, you
can see Enola Yard, cross the river and see Harris Tower and the
Harrisburg station. From there, you can drive down that side of the
river, and follow the Royalton branch down to Columbia, where you can get
a good look at COLA tower and all the catenary poles from the old
electrification. If you want, you can also get to Chickies Rock, a famous
overlook just upriver of Columbia, and also, down river, visit Safe
Harbor, the site of the famous curved steel trestle on the A&S, as well as
the C&PD branch. From there, you head inland to see the Strasburg RR and
the RR Museum of PA.

As you head even further east, you might consider parking the RV in Paoli
or Bryn Mawr and taking the Paoli local (SEPTA now, formerly PRR) into
30th street station to see the station, and of course, all of the stuff
you see along the way is ex-PRR.

A side trip south in the RV to Wilmington and you can see the Wilmington
DE station and the elevated line through the city. Wilmington shops are
very cool, but venture in there and they'll like you have you on an
airplane headed home before dark :^(

As you head up the NJ turnpike, get off in Elizabeth and take a look at
the famous curve under catenary there.

Well, that a few ideas <G>
Regards
Bruce
